General - Categories for our Software Solutions

Databases:

Are used to organize, store and retrieve information like Customers, Vendors, Products and Inventory for your business.

Reports can then be generated to show various aspects of your business. An example would be to have a report that shows which customers have purchased what products you currently have in stock (inventory).

Another report can show the total sales from any customer based on a date range.

 

Computer Security:

Many companies want to secure and protect their computers and data from accidental and intentional damage.

One way of doing this is to hide, or make invisible the operating system's graphical user interface (Start button, Taskbar and desktop icons).

With a custom GUI (graphical user interface) the computer user only sees and has access to the applications and operating system resources necessary for their department or specific task.

 

Automation of Operating System and application tasks:

An example would be the task of copying many files from one location to another for archival purposes.

Without an automation system - you would have to manually choose each file, then select "copy" or "cut" then "paste" or "drag and drop" from one location to the other.

With an automation system - you have the ability to filter and view only the files you want. Click a button and those files are transferred to a pre-selected location or multiple locations automatically.

In addition to that, the system can record each file name, the source and destination locations along with the date to a report file for later verification that all files were transferred and when.

 

Desktop Utilities:

These are small programs that make your computing work easier and more efficient. Utilities are tools normally not available with the operating system and help you accomplish specific tasks.

    Below are some examples:

  • Archive email or other files and compress them.
  • Backup certain files from one or many directories.
  • Copy or move files from one location to another.
  • Monitor directory or disk drive space.
  • Print out the filenames of files in one or more directories.
