Question:
How can I have one of your programs launch at
startup?
Answer:
- Left click on the Start button.
- Left click on the Programs menu.
- Right click on the Startup folder.
- Select Open from the drop down menu.
- Now drag and drop the program's (can be any program) shortcut into the
Startup folder window.
- Once the shortcut icon is in the Startup folder, close it by left clicking
the X in the top right corner of the window.
The program will launch every time the computer starts (boots up) now.
Question:
Why is it that during the DKRuler install on a
completely updated Window 2000 (SP4) system it tells me some of my files are
out of date and asks if I want the installer to update them?
Answer:
For compatibility with older Windows
operating systems (Win95/98/ME and NT) the setup/installer program installs
support files for older operating systems. Windows 2000 and Windows XP
have these support files built into the OS already.
So you may not need to run the setup/installer
program.
Try this...
- Extract the DKRuler.zip into its own directory.
- Extract the DKRuler.CAB file into a directory named cabfiles (or any name
you like).
- Then from within the cabfiles directory double click
the DKRuler.exe file to run it.
Question:
What is the MSVBVM60.DLL file?
Answer:
That's a Microsoft dynamic
link library (dll) file. It is a required file to run many
applications including ours like:
DKOSD and
DKRuler .
MSVBVM60.DLL is already included with the
software program's downloadable zip file.
Question:
What is the Microsoft
.Net Framework Redistributable?
Answer:
The .NET Framework is a component of the Microsoft
Windows operating system used to build and run Windows-based applications.
Applications built for the .NET Framework require that
the .NET Framework be installed prior to running. The .NET Framework
Redistributable will install the .NET Framework onto your computer.
Question:
How do I know if the .NET Framework is already
installed?
Answer:
Cick Start on your desktop, select Control Panel,
and then double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.
When that window appears,
scroll through the list of applications. If you see Microsoft .NET Framework
1.0 (or 2.0) listed, the latest version is already installed and you do not
need to install it again.
Question:
In regards to DKMailChecker, how come Outlook
2003 on my home computer doesn't automatically check for new e-mail like my
work computer does?
Answer:
By default, Outlook does not automatically check for new e-mail messages,
unless you are using Exchange Server (like your work).
How to set up Outlook to automatically check
for new e-mail messages at intervals of one minute to 1,440 minutes (one day).
1. On the Tools menu, point to Send/Receive,
point to Send/Receive Settings, and then click Define
Send/Receive Groups.
2. Select the group that contains the e-mail account that you want to regularly
check for messages.
Note If you have not set up multiple send/receive groups, all
of your e-mail accounts are contained in the All Accounts group.
3. Under Setting for group "group name",
select the Schedule an automatic send/receive every x minutes check
box.
4. Enter a number from 1 to 1440 in the minutes box.
5. Click Close.
6. On the Standard toolbar, click Send/Receive.
Note: This is the only time you need to click the Send/Receive
button.
Question:
Do I have to uninstall previous versions
before installing a newer version?
Answer:
No, unless during the setup of the newer version says to.
Question:
How do I uninstall a program?
Answer:
Click Start on your desktop, select Control
Panel, and then double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon. Then
choose the program you wish to uninstall from the list and press the Add/Remove
button.
